Seize the Day !

Although Jesus spoke the words in John 4:35 two thousand years ago, we sense the urgency He placed on preaching the Gospel and reaching the lost. At no time in history has the earth been more imperiled than it is today.

Wars abound to a greater degree than ever before, and never has the potential for the utter annihilation of the human race been more intense. If we are to discern the signs of the times according to the Bible, truly we are living in the last days!

In 23 B.C. the Roman poet Horace penned a phrase that has become a life: Carpe Diem. Quam minimum credula postero." Seize the day. Put no trust in the morrow."

How appropriate this is. We are in the end times, and if we are to be faithful to Scripture and obedient to the mandate of Christ, we need to go ALL out in reaching out to th elost ! There ar estill thousands of precious souls - IN FRANKLIN COUNTY - who have been unreached by the life-changing power of the Gospel.

Carpe Diem ! Let us seize the day for the eternal purpose of God and for His Kingdom !!

Believing Faith

"Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

The greatest thing that will ever happen to your faith is when the Word of God takes that eighteen-inch drop from mental assent in your head to believing faith in your heart.

When God engraves His Word in your heart, there isn't enough doubt, discouragement or disaster to ever remove it. The devil doesn't have an eraser big enough to remove God's Word from your spirit once He has placed it there.
In what will you place your trust today? Money, work, strength, education, status or power? Only faith in God can move mountains and resist the devil. Only faith in God can do the impossible. Only faith in God can produce powerful prayers. In what or Who do you trust today?

Cleaning Day has had a recent time change. It is now Thursday Evenings at 5pm. We appreciate any one that can come out and help. The cleanliness and upkeep of our church is very important. With so many of us working full time jobs it is difficult to support these efforts with a day time cleaning crew. Hopefully a later time will accommodate every ones schedule. If you have any questions or would like to help please show up at 5 or contact Sheila Hensley.

It is our heart & vision here at Metamora Church of God to serve Jesus as we reach out to our community in the surrounding areas.

The primary purpose of the ministry of Metamora Church of God is to teach the uncompromising Word of God and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ ! We strive to share God's passionate heart for the lost and hurting in the day-to-day ministry of our church.

The vision the Lord gave me was a church without division. That is, a church void of segregation because of race or economic position.

We strive to be a church without walls of denominational barriers, where God's banner over us is LOVE; a church of born again, Spirit-filled believers who are governed by the principles of God'd Word and lead a victorious life.

Daily we practice being a body of believers where the fruit of love, joy, peace longsuffering, gentlenessgoodness, faithfulness, meekness, and temperance are abundant.

We are committed to WORSHIP as a dynamic experience of the presence of God through Word, prayer & music; WELCOME as an invitation to everyone to meet Jesus Christ no matter where they are on their spiritual journey in life; GROWTH as the opportunity to increase each person's confidence and joy in Jesus through prayer, Bible study and through active service in the church, community and the world.

We believe that small things done with love will change the world.
